Inside of the scabbard is made of several leyers of stitched leather, harden and formated as a wooden scabbard. Covering is made of thick leather sewed at the back side of scabbard. The advantage of leather scabbards over wooden ones is their longvity, owing to significant flexibility for hits as well as pin downs (falls during the fight).

Scabbard has a decorated scabbard fittings patterned on St George sword (stylized so it fits lower fitting of scabbard) from Schnutgen Museum, Cologne.
Lower fitting of scabbard is patterned on St Andrew Lutrella's sword (1395) from London cathedral.
