One of the most popular forms of protecting corpse in 13th and 14th was coat of plates ( franc.: pair de plates ; ger.: plate ; pl.: Płaty).
That type of armor had numerous steel plates, riveted to leather or textile base.

This particular coat of plates are patterned on armor, which was find in Visby (Gotland), the biggest archeological findings of this kind of armor.

Cover is made of natural floral tanned leather.

All iron parts are profiled, so that armor will fit very well to body, and are riveted by hand formed rivets ( so rivet caps have irregular shape ). Two steel eyelets and a round, brass buckle are used to fasten the coats.
Color of iron parts is an effect of thermal treatment.

THIS PARTICULAR ARMOR HAS TEMPERED IRON PARTS ( 1mm thickness ) SO THAT WHILE BEING LIGHT, PLATES HAS EXCELLENT DURABILTY. HARDNESS ACHIEVED BY TEMPERING ASSURE PROPER ELASTICY. ( Iron Parts are too hard to break, and too soft to deform ).
